Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another
with whatever gift each of you has received. – 1 Peter 4:10
Our annual giving theme this year is “faith-filled generosity.” At the beginning of 2020, none of us could have known what this year would be like, with the disruptions, losses, and anxieties that the pandemic has brought to our community. COVID-19 has tested us, but I believe that we are stronger, more resilient, and in some ways more connected than we have ever been. Thank you. Thanks to each one of you doing your part in your homes, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, families, and here at All Saints.
While we did not worship in-person for over four months and our doors were closed, we continued to gather virtually, to serve our neighbors, and to maintain our connections with each other. The need in our community is great, and I pray that you have also used this time to discover, hone, and put to use the gifts you have received from our Creator God to serve one another.
I am hopeful as we plan our work together for the coming year. We will continue to explore the ways that our generosity is inspired by our faith, how we are formed and led into relationship with each other as we share our gifts with the world. This is what we mean by “faith-filled generosity.”
How will you discover and use the gifts you have been given to help our church this year? How will you hear the Gospel call to seek and serve Christ in all people, and respond with generosity? As I look at each family, each individual in our community, I realize that we are the stewards of God’s bountiful grace because we give to the world from what we have received.
I invite you to prayerfully consider how you will share with God and God’s Church from what you have received. Read the materials you receive about our Annual Giving Campaign, and complete and mail your pledge card by November 15, or pledge online here. This will help your vestry set a vision budget for the coming year. Any questions may be addressed to the parish office or, if you wish to discuss your pledge, I would be delighted to speak with you.
In the spirit of generosity and love,
